Get Reading: Firefighter car wash to raise money for charity

22nd April 2015

People can have their cars washed by firefighters, with all proceeds going to charity

Firefighters in East Reading will be trading their hoses for sponges for a charity car wash on Saturday, April 25.

Crews at Wokingham Road fire station will be washing cars to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity, which provides therapy and rehabilitation for injured firefighters and their families.

Drivers can bring their mucky motors to Wokingham Road fire station between 10am and 4pm.

They can also ask any questions about reducing the risk of fire in the home.

Stuart Barton, Wokingham Road station commander, said: “If you’re in the area this Saturday, why not pop in and have your car washed?

“Not only will you leave with a sparkling clean car but you’ll also help us to raise money for a very good cause at the same time.”

The suggested minimum donation is £5 per car.
